خداوند فرمود: اهل دنیا کسی است که زیاد بخندد، زیاد بخوابد، زیاد خشمناک بشود، کمتر راضی باشد، به هر کس بدی کند، از او معذرت نخواهد و هر کس از او معذرت بخواهد، آن را قبول نکند. هنگام اطاعت خداوند کسل است؛ ولی موقع ارتکاب گناه شجاع و جری است. آرزوهای دور و دراز دارد، در صورتی که مرگش به وی نزدیکتر است. از نفس خود حساب نمیکشد، زیاد حرف میزند، ولی نفعش به مردم کم است. از خدا نمیترسد، ولی هنگام مشاهده غذا شاد و خندان میشود. بدان که اهل دنیا هنگام رفاه و وسعت رزق، خداوند را شکر نمیکنند، مردم را به چیزهایی دعوت میکنند که خودشان ندارند و بدیهای دیگران را به رخشان میکشند.
حضرت محمد صلی الله علیه و آله و سلم عرض میکند: خداوندا! غیر از این عیبها، ایا در اهل دنیا خوبی هم هست؟ خداوند میفرماید: ای محمد! عیوب اهل دنیا زیاد است. در وجود آنها جهالت و حماقت هست و در مقابل کسی که به آنها تعلیم میدهد، تواضع نمیکنند و در نفس خود خود را عالم میدانند؛ ولی آنها در نزد عرفا جاهلاند.
ای احمد! اما اهل آخرت؛ سیمای آنها نرم و مهربان است، حیایشان زیاد است، کمتر حماقت دارند، نفعشان به مردم زیاد است و مکر و کیدشان کم، مردم از جانب آنها در امان هستند، ولی خود آنها از مردم رنج میبرند. سخنانشان سنجیده و حساب شده است. همیشه از خود حساب میکشند و به نفس خود رنج میدهند و آن را سرزنش میکنند. چشمانشان میخوابد؛ ولی دلهایشان بیدار است. اغلب از خوف خدا گریه میکنند و همیشه به ذکر خداوند مشغولاند. وقتی که مردم را کاتبان اعمالشان، غافل مینویسند، آنها را ذکرگویان مینویسند. در اول استفاده از نعمت خدا را حمد میگویند و در آخر هم شکر میکنند. همیشه دعای آنها به سوی خداوند صعود میکند و سخنان آنها مسموع میباشد. ملائکه به وسیله دعای آنان در زیر حجابهای ملکوتی شاد و خرماند.
خداوند دوست دارد همیشه سخنان آنها را بشنود؛ همان طور که پدر از شنیدن صدای فرزندش خوشش میاید. حتی در یک چشم به هم زدن هم از خداوند غافل نیستند. نه به طعام زیاد علاقه دارند و نه به زیاد حرف زدن و نه به زیادی لباس. همه مردم در نزد آنها مرده هستند، فقط خداوند است که در نزد آنها زنده است و بخشندهای است که هرگز نمیمیرد. به کسانی که از آنها روگردان شوند، کرم میکنند و هر کس بر آنان رو آورد، محبت بیشتر مینمایند. دنیا و آخرت در نزد آنها یکی است ( یعنی آنها دنیا را فقط برای آخرت میخواهند). 1. حدیث قدسی حدیثی است که از پیامبر صلی الله علیه و آله و سلم و ایشان از خداوند جل علا برای ما روایت کردهاند؛ به تعبیر دیگر حدیث قدسی، آن بخش از سخنان خداوند است که جزء ایات قرآن نیست.
